Description

Introducing our SEN chocolate-making sessions, a carefully structured, highly sensory, and interactive activity designed to build confidence, fine motor skills, and independence in a supportive environment.

Our sessions will aim to blend education about the origins of chocolate with a hands-on, creative, and tailored approach to various abilities, during an exclusive, calm and relaxing session.

  • Sensory and Educational Exploration: Participants begin by exploring cocoa beans, pods, and raw ingredients to engage their senses. This might include smelling raw cocoa butter, tasting roasted nibs, and watching short, engaging visual aids about how chocolate is made.
  • Structured Hands-on Creation: The session, however simple due to the practicalities of our working environment is paced to keep participants engaged without becoming overwhelmed, often focusing on practical, tactile activities. Participants might make lollipops, or decorate chocolate bars dependant on the chosen session.
  • Supportive Environment: Sessions are tailored to individual needs as much as possible (and we encourage family members and friends who are familiar to join in), often featuring our lead chocolatier who fosters a calm atmosphere and persona. Workshops may allow for breaks or the use of headphones to manage sensory input - please let us know in the enquiry section when booking your session.
  • Customisation and Creativity: The experience encourages self-expression, allowing participants to create their own unique chocolate designs, which builds a sense of pride and accomplishment.
  • Tangible Results and Certification: Participants are encouraged to leave with their own creations and celebrated with a "certificate of chocolatology," reinforcing the sense of achievement.
